Membership

We offer a Leave of Absence discounted membership category. To access this, you simply need to email member services and attach evidence of your planned leave e.g. letter from doctor or obstetrician and confirm the estimated dates in which you will not be working.

There is a Retired Member category that you are able to access. Simply contact Member Services. For those ASA members who transition to the Retired category of ASA membership, if you held insurance for the year prior to your retirement, you’ll be eligible for ongoing insurance (run-off cover) at no cost.

Yes, membership fees can be paid in instalments. We offer the convenience of monthly payments via credit card or an Australian bank account, with no additional fees. Please note, however, that ASA Insurance requires payment in full at the time of purchase.

Congratulations on completing your course! To upgrade your membership, ensure you are registered with the Australian Sonographer Accredited Registry (ASAR) or the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB). Once registered, simply contact our Member Services team for assistance with the upgrade process.

CPD

If you are being audited by ASAR, follow these steps to access and submit your CPD points:

  1. Log into your member portal.
  2. Navigate to the My CPD Activities tile.

If the ASA is your default CPD program:

  • Download your CPD End of Triennium Certificate.
  • Upload the certificate to your ASAR CPD record under ASAR Code 5 Audit.

If the ASA is not your default CPD program:

  • Export your CPD certificates and supporting documents.
  • Upload these documents to your ASAR CPD record.

Access to online CPD and member pricing for events becomes available the day after you join the ASA. Simply wait until the following day, and you will have full access to all CPD resources and member-exclusive event pricing.

The system tracks active screen time to award CPD points. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The webinar must be the active screen—points won’t be awarded if it’s playing in the background while you use another screen.
  • Skipping through the webinar or increasing the playback speed will prevent points from being awarded.

Re-Watching Activities:
While you can re-watch any online activity as often as you like, CPD points are only awarded for the first viewing.

How to Complete an Unfinished Activity:

  1. Log in to your member portal.
  2. Scroll down to the My Online Learning tile.
  3. Find the activity, click Log In, and resume the webinar to complete it.

Important Reminders for Logging CPD Points:

  • Complete your registered activities within the same calendar year to ensure your points are recorded.
  • If your CPD activity was registered in a previous year, please contact Member Services for assistance with logging your points.
