A Special General Meeting (SGM) will be held by the ASA for members to consider and vote on the proposed changes to the ASA Constitution.
ASA has reviewed and updated its Constitution to ensure it remains clear, current and aligned with best practice governance for a modern membership organisation.
The revised Constitution reflects recent legal changes, simplifies key sections, and strengthens ASA’s not-for-profit structure.
Key changes include:
Membership classes, eligibility and disciplinary processes clarified and updated
General meeting processes clarified and simplified
Updated director terms, including a new cooling-off period
Stronger governance through new policies and dispute resolution processes
Mandatory indemnity for ASA officers
